Prevailing wage requires employers to pay prevailing wage hourly pay plus fringe benefits and pay overtime after 8 hours on a job site.
Prevailing wages are set by the Department of Labor based on wage reports, location and type of work, and includes commercial, highway heavy and residential.
Prevailing wage promotes the use of a trained workforce.
Prevailing wage incentivizes hiring apprentices in a certified apprenticeship program, by requiring journey-level and apprentice wage scale.
