Duluth-area Carpenters Host Workshop for Girl Scouts

Scouts from Girl Scouts of Minnesota and Wisconsin Lakes and Pines took over the Hermantown, Minn., training center on November 16, 2016. 34 girls attended the build, hosted by the Local 361 Apprenticeship Committee. During the workshop, the girls learned from Local 361 members, building a step stool and talking with them about apprenticeship, what being a carpenter means and the types of work they do.

“It was great to partner with this group again,” said Apprenticeship Committee President Cody Buus. “The scouts asked a lot questions and were really excited about doing the hands-on project. It was great to see them interested in carpentry!”

The Local 361 Apprenticeship Committee looks forward to continuing the relationship they’ve built with the Lakes and Pines Girl Scouts.
