Retirees
North Central States retirees don’t quit when they hang up their tool belts. Many of them are our most active members when it comes to community service and social activities. If you are a retired carpenter and want to be actively involved in Union initiatives, make sure to attend and participate in our regularly scheduled Retiree meetings. Some of our retiree initiatives include:
Food Bank
Twin Cities, MN area Retirees run a weekly food bank to assist members and their families who are out of work. The food bank is open every Thursday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Regional Council’s Minnesota offices at 710 Olive Street, Saint Paul.
Madison, WI area Retirees run a daily food bank (Monday - Friday), open from 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Southern Training Center at 5202 Monument Lane, Madison.
Want to donate?
Donations of cash and nonperishable items can be dropped off weekdays from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Regional Council’s Minnesota offices, or mailed to: Food Bank, North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters, 700 Olive Street, Saint Paul, MN 55130.
Military Union Care Program
Every month, retirees in some areas meet to send a care package to members who are on active duty in any branch of the U.S. military. Retirees also stay in contact with the members’ families.
Do you know a union member who is deployed on active duty in the military? To have a care package sent to them, send their name, Local, military address, rank, APO, and UBC I.D. number to Bernie Schmidt at bigbern@q.com.
