Local 308 Gives Back at Hartman Reserve

For the past 30 years, Carpenters Local 308 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, has served pancakes and sausages to hungry attendees of the Hartman Reserve Nature Center’s annual Maple Syrup Festival. Each year a dozen members of the Local volunteer one morning of the festival. Despite a slow start due to 8” of snow, members served approximately 1,000 people. This year’s event was held March 24-25, 2018.

Outside of the festival, Local 308 regularly partners with Hartman Reserve, with members working on various projects, including the Reserve’s 100 percent union-built nature center.
