Career Signing Day
In an effort to prepare a new generation to become carpenters, North Central States Regional Council of Carpenters is committed to community and school partnerships, offering students the Carpenters Union as their higher education choice. When students are committed to building their future with the Carpenters, North Central States connects them with union contractors who will sponsor their apprenticeship.
High school students face big decisions after graduation. A tuition-free apprenticeship in the skilled trades gives students a chance to learn and cultivate their skills through a combination of on-the-job training and school hours with no tuition costs. This method of training allows students to earn a living while learning their craft.
Career Signing Day
We believe that students who are ready to commit to a career in the skilled building trades should be celebrated like student athletes committing to a college program. Career Signing Day is a day of celebration and recognition for students sponsored into the Carpenters Union by signatory contractors directly from high school. It is also a day to celebrate the contractor who is giving the student the opportunity for a skilled, hands-on career without accumulating college debt.
The event, held at the high school or the area Carpenters Training Institute, is open for all to attend including family, classmates, school facility and staff, local media and sponsoring contractors. Career Signing Day creates excitement for students taking the first step in their life-long career.
